Important Dates and Deadlines


BEFORE Experimentation Begins: Complete the ASHSSS Project Approval Form (and additional forms, as required) with proper signatures. (It is best to complete before experimentation begins, but submit with registration materials.)
February 2: Friday
(Material receipt date.)

Submit to the ASHSSS Director all materials required for registration. Fill out REGISTRATION Form COMPLETELY! (See How to Register for the ASHSSS.) Keep a copy of all documents that you submit.
E-mail your FORMAL Abstract to ffgal@uaf.edu!!

Week of February 20: Student notification regarding selection to participate in the ASHSSS at UAF.
February 23: Friday
(Materials must be received by this date.)
Students participating by distance delivery:
Submit all necessary materials. (See Distance Delivery of Presentation and confirm during discussion with ASHSSS Director when making arrangements for your distance delivery.)
March 1 & 2:
6:00-7:30 pm

Students planning to use a computer during presentation:
Test equipment and software compatibility at UAF’s Natural Sciences Facility (Rooms 136, 201A & B, 202, 203, 204, & 253) in the room designated for your PowerPoint delivery session.

March 3: Saturday ASHSSS Preliminaries at UAF’s Natural Sciences Facility (NSF), located at mid/upper campus.
7:30 am:
Registration (2nd floor mezzanine of NSF).
8:00 am: Required plenary session (Room 201 A & B of NSF).
8:30 am—12:30 pm: Student presentations (7 concurrent sessions).
6-8 pm: Awards Banquet (Hutchison Institute of Technology & HS).
(Each student may bring one guest to the awards banquet at no added cost. Other guests may pay $15 to attend the banquet.)
March 4: Sunday ASHSSS at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) Natural Sciences Facility (NSF), Room 201A&B.
9:00 am – 12:00 noon and 1:00 – 4:00 pm Presentations by the 14 finalists (to determine overall winners).
May 2-6: National JSHS for the top 5 overall winners. (The location for our 45th Nationals in 2007 is to be Huntsville, AL)
